Wow. What a pleasant surprise. The restaurant looks small from the outside but can sit quite a lot. Reservations are needed. Casual dress. Got there at 5:15pm and by 6p it was packed
Adequate parking at businesses across the street that are close in evening. Entrance is on corner of building and not the 2 large doors that I tried to use. We had the salmon and shrimp dishes and saved the crepes for dessert. Food was excellent. Server was pleasant and seemed to enjoy her job…very attentive. Loved the colors and different decor areas you could sit. Definitely recommend.
Also had French onion soup, escargots, salad and a few drinks…around $70 per person.
Loved the interior, felt like I was in another country, staff was over the top nice. We ordered the fondue , it was incredible, we also ordered a crab crepe and shared it, wasn't what I expected, a little bland, just needed some seasoning. We ordered the French onion soup each, my favorite, was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Willvreturn.
Always a go-to whenever I’m in town. Our server was a sweetie, our food was delish, and I wanted my dessert so badly I forgot to take a photo!
We had the crawfish crepe and the lamb chops. Both were perfect. (Sad they no longer have the aioli sauce though!), followed by the chocolate mousse.
Note: The fondue IS yummy but we had that last year and ended up having no room for dessert!
I’ve probably eaten here 50 times in the 20+ years I’ve lived in the area. It’s one of my favorite French restaurants not just in New Orleans but the world—including France. The Art Nouveau style fused with local art makes the perfect backdrop for a cozy dinner. Service is always impeccable and the food is top notch—I’ve tried most of the menu items. All are good but the escargot and bread are especially *chef’s kiss*. Oh and the steak and the seafood and the soups and the drinks and the crêpes. Seriously, you can’t go wrong—they have everything from light to heavier fare and I’ve always gone away happy.
The ambiance is great, the place is very pretty, the staff was courteous and very helpful. The crab sauce was excellent although the crepes were a bit thick and overcooked both for my entree and dessert. Two other people at the table enjoyed their salads very much.
I have been dining at La Crepe Nanou for over 30 years. One of my menu go to items read always the mussels, some of the best ever. However, this visit's mussels were quite lackluster. They packed the flavor and depth that I am used to. They were good but not great or even exceptional, in fact they were disappointing. However, everything else was great to fantastic. Please fix the mussels or I will have to go to Cafe Degas.
I am leaving this review from the back corner with my boyfriend who made the FATAL mistake of allowing me to decide where to take me for my birthday. His meal was full of fragmented crab shells, even the presentation alone looked like disgusting public school cafeteria food. Disgraceful. The interior design is a first grader’s idea of « romantic ». SHAMEFUL!
Usually a go to for a nice dinner but our last time I went was ok at best. Usually, it would be all 5 stars but that one time really stuck with me because the mussels were good but my entree, fish, was bad. Our salad was not brought out to us and was charged for it. But hopefully the next time I go it is amazing like most times.
